Father Okola Educational Trust [FOET] was founded by Fr. Peter Odhiambo Okola – AJ, in August 2019 with the aim of supporting the education of children in Kenya including those of his large extended family and other underprivileged children from Siaya County of Western Kenya, many of whom would not have progressed with their education beyond primary or secondary school.
FOET is registered as a trust deed in Kenya under registration number 349/DI/176/1894 MMXIV. As an educational trust, FOET is committed to total transparency with more than 99% of its income going towards tuition fees for its beneficiaries with the only other expense being bank processing charges.
Other operational costs such as office space and related expenses, communication costs, web development and transport costs are in kind donations from the trustees. Management and Trustees are volunteers who draw no allowances nor salaries from the trust. All this is to ensure maximum impact in FOET’s journey towards fulfilling its vision of an empowered society.
